In this transmission, we will enter the Baptismal Mysteries through both ancient text and living esoteric contemplation — following the teachings left behind within the Dead Sea Scrolls, Nag Hammadi writings, early Christian traditions, and the initiatory teachings of the Valentian Gnostics.

We will explore the ancient understanding of Living Water and why purification was not simply concerned with cleansing the physical body, but with preparing the the spirit to become capable of receiving something sacred.

Long before baptism became institutionalized within the Church, water, immersion, anointing, salt, light, sacred garments, the sacred fire of Christ, covenant and rebirth belonged to a much wider initiatory landscape of the ancient world.

Within the Dead Sea Scrolls and the purification traditions associated with Qumran, we encounter water rites intimately connected with purity, and an essential Essene entry rite into the deeper mysteries.

Within the Gnostic traditions, particularly the Valentinian mysteries preserved in texts such as the Gospel of Philip, baptism begins to reveal an even more esoteric dimension:

Baptism as illumination.

Baptism as transformation.

Baptism as preparation for resurrection.

Baptism as remembrance of the divine origin of the soul.

A ritual purification of the old self in preparation for the revelation of something deeper. An essential aspect of living in closer Truth and alignment with God.
